The imminence of death (the end) can awaken a heroic love, as if the self gave way to the other and thus promised survival.

Boats of Hope is a participatory project of Collective Art Action , inspired by the piece Study for Noah’s Ark by Andre Martus, selected for the XXII BIAC.

The proposal is to “reproduce” the piece “Study for Noah's Ark” on a larger scale (2-3m each boat). The public can intervene both in the construction of the boats (directed and coordinated by the artist) and later, by later by filling it with a particular content. The accumulation and potential growth inside the boats will be documented throughout the course of the biennial.

Each boat will be built with a different recycled and recyclable material and will contain a different content (origami animals or clay seeds, objects in the form of written words, drawings or small sculptures,...) in order to raise awareness to the participants. and the public about everything that will need to be done and taken into account, in the face of an existential and climate crisis like the one we are facing.
